I'd suggest steel bar as well (get the stockist to cut it into slices for you, that way you can get wheel blanks for about 30 to 50 pence. If you really prefer...

Hi Rich, That would be one definition. There are some other aspects. In G3 we build standard gauge engines (these days to 17/32nd scale) to run on 21/2" track....
